Deck Cost Calculator

A real price in 15 seconds — not a guess. This uses our actual per-square-foot labor rates (end-of-2026-season pricing). Answer a few questions, get your rough labor estimate.

This is a labor estimate only, based on the dimensions of the deck you want to build. All materials will be provided in a separate material list, and you can purchase the materials at your leisure, from whoever you choose.
e.g. 16 × 20 = 320 sq ft

Add-ons

Count follows your staircases unless you change it. Concrete materials are the customer's responsibility; larger pads are priced by size.

How the math works

The calculator multiplies your deck's square footage by our per-square-foot labor rate — $28 for ground-level builds, $32 for raised, $38 for tear-down and rebuild (end-of-2026-season rates) — then adds your selected extras: staircases at $500 each, concrete landing pads at $350 each (labor only), cable or glass railing upgrades, skirting, and foundations. The result is a rough labor estimate. Materials are quoted by the supplier and paid directly to them — we never mark them up.

What affects your number

Height off grade is the biggest lever — anything over 30 inches moves you to the $32 tier with deeper footings and more railing. Stairs, multiple levels, railing upgrades, and site conditions like slopes or ledge all move the number. How this works: we price labor per square foot — no mystery, no padding. You buy materials directly from the supplier at cost. For the full breakdown of what drives deck cost up or down, read our Connecticut deck cost guide.
